What is the difference between AdoptEd, FosterEd, NurseEd and AdoptEd CE?
AdoptEd for Parents contains 100+ one-hour courses and many education bundles. These courses are intended to provide adoptive parent training both pre and post adoption, and they come with Certificates of Completion if required by your adoption agency. These courses may also be used by social workers in fulfillment of their continuing education requirements, but they have not been approved for CE credit, so you will have to submit on your own to your licensing board.

The cost is $20 per course unless you are working with one of our partner agencies. Partner agencies can give you a passcode to use at checkout, which will provide you with free/discounted access. Ask your agency if they are an Education Partner or Impact Partner with Creating a Family. If they are not, but would like more information, have them contact us at info@creatingafamily.org.

FosterEd contains one-hour courses that are geared to foster parents and kinship caregivers.  These courses provide in-service training opportunities on a variety of topics helpful to those caring for children who have experienced trauma.  Users receive a certificate of completion to share with their social workers or agency staff upon successful completion of the course.  The cost of these courses has been discounted by a scholarship fund to reduce the cost of foster parent training.  All courses are one-hour audio interviews with top experts.

AdoptEd CE for Social Workers has one-hour courses that have been approved for social worker continuing education by the Association of Social Workers Boards. The cost is $20 per course. Discounts and free unlimited access are provided to our partner agencies. Ask your agency if they are an Education Partner or Impact Partner with Creating a Family. NurseED CE has one-hour courses that have been approved for infertility nurse continuing education by theNational Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. The cost is $20 per course. Discounts and free unlimited access are provided to our partner agencies. Ask your agency if they are an Education Partner or Impact Partner with Creating a Family. How do I purchase a course?
1. Users can access the various learning centers by clicking on the “Online Courses” tab in the navigation menu at the top of the Creating a Family website. They can also access the learning centers at https://creatingafamily.org/shop/

2. AdoptEd for Parents users will need to click on the applicable learning center icon and then select either individual courses (for the entire course list) or learning bundles (for a list of packages that focus on a specific topic/area of interest). Foster Ed, NurseEd CE And AdoptEd CE users will need to click directly on the course of interest.

3. Users can add individual courses or course bundles to their shopping cart by clicking on the blue “add to cart” button.

4. Users will need to complete the checkout process once they have selected all courses/packages of interest. They will need to click on the blue ”view cart” button in the right-hand column. This will take them to their shopping cart where there is space to enter and apply a coupon code if applicable.  Users will need to proceed with checkout, and enter all required information before clicking on the blue “place order” button. Once they have successfully placed their order they will be redirected to a page with access links to their purchased courses. An email with course links will also be sent to the email address they provided upon checkout. Click on any of the course links listed on the receipt to access the course audio/quiz. A certificate of completion will be instantly awarded upon successful completion (80% or higher) of a course. Returning users can access their purchased courses or add additional courses anytime to their account by logging in their user information in the login area in the right-hand column of the Online Courses page https://creatingafamily.org/shop/. Click on the “my courses” link to access any previously purchased courses. Follow the directions listed above to add any additional courses to your account.

How do I apply a coupon/discount code?
If you have a member/partner discount or an agency coupon please enter the code in the box provided on the checkout form and click apply coupon.  The discount will be reflected in your cart total.
How do I access my purchased courses?
Users can access their purchased courses or add additional courses anytime to their account by logging in their user information in the login area in the right-hand column of the Online Courses page https://creatingafamily.org/shop/. Click on the “my courses” link to access purchased courses. Click on the title of the course you want to take.  Click on the blue “listen/download course” button to access the course audio. Click on the blue “take quiz” button to complete a 10 question inventory about the course.  Upon successful completion of the quiz (80% or higher), users will be immediately awarded a certificate of completion.  Please save/print your certificate for your records or to submit to your agency or continuing education board.
What if my partner and I both need a certificate of completion?
Certificates of completion will be issued in the name(s) of the registered user.  We value the education of both spouses/partners and therefore encourage users to register individually and complete the courses on their own for maximum education benefit. However, If your agency allows you and your spouse/partner to complete courses together, then you can select joint account on the checkout form and enter the additional name of your spouse/partner to the account.  Both names will appear on all certificates.
What is your refund policy?
We will work with you to resolve any problems. If we are not able to solve your problem, we will give you a full refund within 7 days of the date of purchase. Please refer to our grievance policy or contact the Education Director for further information.
