    This Privacy Policy explains what types of information is collected by Creating a Family’s website, www.CreatingaFamily.org, and how this information is used. Please understand that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online this information cannot be made 100% secure and, in some cases, that information can be intercepted, collected and used by others. However, we will do our part to try to minimize your exposure.

    What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected

    If you sign up to receive the Creating a Family e-communications, you voluntarily provide us with contact information (such as name and e-mail address) and area of interest. We will use this information to communicate with you. Each newsletter has an easy way to unsubscribe or “opt out” if you do not wish to receive our communication.

    If you create an account to allow access to the Online Adoption Education or Waiting Child section, you voluntarily provide your name and email address. We will use this information in providing access to these services.

    If you make a donation to Creating a Family,  we thank you. You voluntarily provide us with contact information. We may use this information in the future for other donation related purposes. The donation itself via credit card is handled by a third party–at this time PayPal, but it may change in the future. If you have concerns about them, you will need to check their privacy policy as well.

    Email Privacy

    It’s simple: Creating a Family does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside or our organization.

    IP addresses

    The Creating a Family website uses your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our website, and for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic.

    Cookies

    The Creating a Family website uses “cookie” messages to automatically help provide better services.
