Sloane was born in November 2011 and lived with his birth family until May 2013. he has been diagnosed with infantile cerebral palsy, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and developmental delays.

Sloane can sit independently, pulls up on stable support and walks when held by the hands or in a walker. He reaches for desired objects and plays with toys. Sloane is not yet potty-trained and needs assistance with feeding. He observes his environment and imitates some of what he sees. Sloane recognizes and is emotionally interactive with familiar adults and enjoys being teased by them.

Sloane is currently nonverbal, but he pronounces long sound combinations. He does not yet follow verbal instructions. He likes listening to children's songs.
