Bettina was born in 2000 and has Down Syndrome, hydrocephalus, and needs dental work.

Bettina is a calm, timid and generally positive girl who can stand against stable support, sit unassisted and walk with a walker. She smiles a lot and enjoys receiving attention from the staff members to all of whom she shows attachment. Bettina makes eye contact with adults, but is nonverbal and rarely participates in group activities. She likes listening to music, watching TV, having fairy tales read to her, and moving around in her positioning walker.

Bettina is being educated under an individual education plan by a teacher that comes to the orphanage.
