Prenatal Exposure Training for Foster, Adoptive, Kinship Parents

Training Opportunity for Foster, Adoptive, & Kinship Parents

Creating a Family is a national nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen and inspire foster, adoptive & kinship parents and the professionals who support them in raising children exposed to trauma. Experts estimate 10-11% of all children and 80% of children in or adopted from foster care are impacted by prenatal exposure to alcohol or drugs. Creating a Family developed this trauma-informed, expert-based training to help parents recognize the signs and symptoms of prenatal exposure and train them on techniques that work best with these kids.

Creating a Family is offering this FREE training to parents in March/April 2023. The training consists of 3 online sessions that last 90 minutes each and include video and facilitated discussion. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for up to 5 hours of CE.  All participants completing the full training will also receive a $20 gift card.

* Creating a Family is working with NC State University to seek evidence-base for this program. All participants will be asked to complete a pre and post test as part of this study.  Space is limited and some participants may be added to a waiting list for future training.
