Coming to the realization that my husband and I were actually dealing with the “I” word – infertility – was a tough pill to swallow. All around us, our dear friends were getting pregnant with seemingly almost careless ease, and here we were, ticking off another month that all our efforts just didn’t work.
It was hard to know who in our lives to lean on, and our issue became an isolating one, where we expressed our anger and grief more internally than anything else.
Once learning about the Creating a Family website and radio show, it was like making a new friend: a friend that had zero judgments and a full caring heart. We learned crucial information and advice, but almost more importantly, learned that we were not alone and that all of our feelings were normal.
Without that support, our IUI and IVF journey would have been a much more stressful and isolating one for us. Luckily, our first IVF treatment worked, but I still rely on Creating a Family to help curb the lasting emotional effects of going through IF.
Thank you for your compassion, heart and dedication to reminding women everywhere they’re not alone!
