Course Overview:
Adopting an older child takes preparation on the part of the parents, the existing children in the family, and the new child. This course shares tips for smoothing the transition when adopting an older child from abroad. Our experts are Abbie Smith, an adoptive mother and Director of Clinical Services at Holt International specializing in attachment therapy, trauma and parenting of adopted children; Shila Henderson; an adoptive mom of two older daughters from China; and Vicki Hanson, an adoptive mom of an older son from Ethiopia.
