Q: I have always planned to return to Vietnam with my son whenever it is the “right thing” for him. We had a great experience there and I hope he is interested in visiting someday. A friend of mine, also an adoptive parent, raised some concerns about taking him back before he is 18 years old on the off chance that someone or the government might try to claim him and keep him in the country.
