Here at Creating a Family, we strongly advocate discussing your child’s adoption with them from a young age, but not all parents make that choice. Adoptees who don’t learn that they are adopted until they are adults are sometimes called late discovery adoptees (LDAs). The Huffington Post has a good article about late discovery adoption, why parents would choose to not tell their child they were adopted and what it’s like to discover that you’re adopted as an adult.
