Mia Hansen and Alexandra Hauglum were adopted from China in 2003, Mia to a California couple and Alexandra to a Norwegian couple. Officials said they weren’t related, but their parents had their doubts and a year later, a DNA test revealed that the two girls were twin sisters. Despite the thousands of miles between them, the sisters are close. They have met several times and talk every weekend. A recent documentary about the sisters, Twin Sisters, has won several awards.
